Bad Tagboard Messages a Good Thing?

Somone has just put a very disrespectful message on your tagboard and it has you angry and looking for the responsible person. Does this sound like something you have been through? Well don't sweat it because it's not as big of a deal as you may think it is. Actually messages like that does more damage to the person who has sent it than the person who it was sent to.

Posting such messages at the most make people angry and uncomfortable. But not all is negative about such disrespectful postings and you should use it to your advantages.

Usually when someone posts a negative or disrespectful message to your tagboard it is only because they are trying to stress you out, get you to fight, or to make you lose members. The easiest way to deal with the stress is not to let the stress get to you. If you cannot help but to be stressed out then walk away from the computer do something else to keep your mind off what just happened and if that doesn't work then don't show that you are stressed. Never let people see you stress out about such issues especially your customers.

The second reason of why people post such nonsense is that their goal is to get you to fight them back. In order to deal with this is simply don't fight back. The more time you spend tyring to make others believe that what was said wasn't true, means that you are spending less time in attending to your customers and members. Don't let the post consume all of your time.

The 3rd reason that people say such disrespectful thing is not so clear cut. Sometimes they say it because you actually did what they are accusing you of. If this is the case then the only advice that you should take is to stop doing the wrong thing. If this isn't the case, then the best thing to do is to make a record of the post as proof and to find the IP address so that you can contact their ISP and file a harassment report against them. The more the person puts disrespectful materials in your tag board the stronger your harassment report against them will be. I would recommend having at least 4 or 5 separate cases to show where the person is harassing you.

Now the reason why Negative Posts in your tagboard can actually be helpful is that it allows your members to see how you handle the situations. If you respond back in the same manner then many members will not think highly of you. If other members rise to your defense then it helps you to maintain your current reputation. How you respond to a specific situation is often times more important than the problem at hand. The better you are able to respond to a situation the more comfortable your members will be about the quality of your site. Negative comments also allow you to present your site in a realistic perspective. It's very difficult to make everyone happy and many times you will stress yourself out in trying to do so. As a business the only people you should be concerned about are your current customers, and your potential customers. Trying to fight someone that you don't know about what was said in a negative post will only take your time away from doing what you need to be doing and that's taking care of your customers. Always look at negative posts as a challenge and an opportunity to show your members how professional you can handle a bad situation.
